J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man covers just hit differently.
The mix of classic Spidey energy, NYC atmosphere and that unmistakable Campbell style makes this one feel like a modern collectible from the second you see it.
And honestly? Chip Zdarsky absolutely crushed this run.
He brought Peter Parker back to feeling grounded, funny, awkward and genuinely human again while still balancing the larger Marvel Universe around him. That’s not easy to do with Spider-Man.
I also really like that this cover captures the more lighthearted and romantic side of Spidey instead of going full dark-and-gritty like so many modern covers do.
The city backdrop, the swinging pose, the vintage-inspired logo design… it all works together perfectly.
And of course, landing a CGC 9.8 on a Campbell exclusive never hurts.
