Sabine Rich absolutely crushed this cover.
The clean white background mixed with the brutal exposed skeletal damage gives it that perfect contrast between beauty and horror that Lady Death books are known for.
And honestly, that red cape against the pale skin and black armor just makes the whole cover pop even harder in slab form.
One thing I appreciate about modern Lady Death books is that they fully embrace being collectible display pieces. Between the premium cardstock, commission exclusives, and insane artwork, they’ve become some of the most visually striking modern indie books out there.
This one especially feels more like dark fantasy artwork than a standard comic cover.
For newer collectors:
📖 Lady Death is one of the flagship characters of the independent “bad girl” comic boom of the 1990s, but she evolved far beyond that era into a full horror/fantasy mythology character with her own universe, lore, and dedicated collector base.
And Coffin Comics fans are hardcore collectors. Limited editions like this disappear fast once they hit the aftermarket.
A clean CGC 9.8 on a white-heavy modern cover is always satisfying too. Every tiny flaw would stand out instantly, so this one presents beautifully.
