I’ve always thought Thief of Thieves was one of the most underrated books to come out of the Image boom period.
Instead of superheroes or horror, it leaned fully into slick heist storytelling — almost like a comic version of Heat, Ocean’s Eleven or Leverage. Very grounded, stylish and character-driven.
And this sketch edition fits the tone perfectly.
The massive white background gives the silhouette a really cinematic feel, while the framed image tells the entire story visually — family, crime, violence and double lives all packed into one piece of art.
Honestly, the minimalist design is what makes this slab stand out so much on the shelf. It doesn’t scream for attention, but once you notice it, you keep looking at it.
Skybound absolutely nailed these anniversary sketch variants. They feel more like gallery pieces than standard comic covers.
