There’s just something special about late-70s Marvel sci-fi books.
The oversized logos, the explosive colors, the dramatic narration boxes… this cover absolutely screams Bronze Age. And seeing that “Still Only 35¢” burst in the corner instantly sends you back to another era of comic collecting.
What makes this book especially cool is how heavily the original Battlestar Galactica series leaned into the massive sci-fi craze that exploded after Star Wars. You can really feel that energy in this comic — space battles, lasers, destruction, panic… pure cinematic spectacle.
And getting Gene Colan art inside? That’s a huge bonus. His atmosphere-heavy style worked incredibly well for darker sci-fi and horror stories.
A CGC 9.2 on a 1979 newsstand-era sci-fi adaptation is nothing to complain about either. This is one of those books that feels both nostalgic and historically important for TV/comic crossover collectors.
