Export Control Officer

Kongsberg Discovery is seeking one Export Control Officer to be a part of a centralized team of experts, care-taking our license to operate. This role is an exciting opportunity for a company that is growing rapidly.

This role is highly operational and requires daily interaction with sales, business development, project teams.  Success depends on being visible, accessible, and actively engaged in business activities from an early stage.

What you will be doing / The role / Your day-to-day

• Perform internal due diligence in line with KD procedures and guidelines for sales and support
• Support sales and business assessments from an early stage
• Advise and support sales and support teams across KD locations and the KD Screening Team
• Conduct targeted OSINT analysis to identify ownership structures, hidden affiliations, and risk indicators across business partners
• Use third party tools for vessel screening and customer checks, including KYC and OSINT sources
• Determine licensing requirements and manage license applications
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce response time and strengthen processes

We think you should have / What we're looking for / Your qualifications

• Knowledge of sanctions and export control regulations in Norway, EU, US, and UK is a plus. (Training and development will be provided)
• Understanding of KYC processes and due diligence methods
• Experience with tools used for screening/checking business partners is a plus
• Combination of legal understanding, business insight, and practical execution
• Strong English skills. This is the working language
• Background in export control, compliance, or related areas is preferred, not required
• Knowledge of the maritime industry is a plus
