Summer Intern
Company Description
TOMRA was founded in 1972, based on the design, manufacturing and sale of reverse vending machines (RVMs) for automated collection of used beverage containers. Today TOMRA provides solutions that enable the circular economy with advanced collection and sorting systems, and food processing by employing sensor-based sorting and grading technology.
TOMRA Collection is a leading innovator in the circular economy and Clean Loop Recycling. Founded on the invention of the world's first reverse vending machine, we now collect over 50 billion drink containers for recycling each year through 85,000 installations across 60 markets. The 50 billion collected containers represent only 3% of global beverage packaging sold which provides a significant opportunity for TOMRA Collection to continue its growth and further contribute to a more sustainable planet.
At TOMRA, we want people to innovate, show passion in their work and be responsible. We encourage the freedom to innovate and take risks that result in breakthroughs that challenge the status quo. We value passion that focuses and commits to meeting success. We believe in a responsible and safe mindset that takes care of our customers, products, and fellow employees.
The TOMRA Group employs 5000 people globally and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: TOM). TOMRA was named Norway’s Most Innovative Business in 2023, number one on the list of the country’s top 25 companies.
Job Description
Are you a curious and ambitious student eager to apply your analytical skills in a global company working at the crossroads of business, technology, and sustainability? This summer, we’re offering students the opportunity to dive into competitive insights, technology trends, and data‑driven decision‑making - where your ideas can genuinely make an impact.
We’re looking for students within business or engineering fields such as Industrial Economics, Technology Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration, or Data Analytics. You enjoy making sense of complex information, thinking strategically, and taking initiative. Most importantly, you bring energy, curiosity, and a genuine desire to learn.
We would like you to spend time at our office in Asker, working closely with colleagues across different departments. The work period will run from early or mid‑June until August; exact dates are flexible and can be adapted to the students. Please note that the office typically closes for a couple of weeks in July, during which the summer internship will pause.
The tasks may include several of the following:
Develop a simple framework for market and competitor insights.
Conduct interviews and desk research to map markets and opportunities.
Test how AI can improve CI and insight workflows.
Build and refine dashboards that support PM decision‑making.
Analyze sustainability as a competitive advantage and summarize best practices.
Qualifications
Students in their 4th or 5th year are especially encouraged to apply.
Comfortable communicating in both English and Norwegian.
Experience in market analysis, technology insights, or dashboard development is considered a plus.
Does this sound interesting to you? Then we would love to hear from you!
We kindly ask you to include a motivation letter, either as an attachment or written directly in the “Message to the recruitment team” field on the application page, along with your CV and your most recent transcript/grade report.
In your motivation letter, please describe any relevant experience you believe is valuable for the role, as well as how you typically work. We are particularly interested in hearing how you approach your work analytically, in a structured manner, and with strong self‑drive, as we believe these qualities are important to succeed and thrive in the position.
Please also include your availability: when you can start and the duration you are able to work.
Application deadline: 01.03.2026
