🩸 CRIMSON — ACTION FIGURES: SCARLET X
Here's one for the collectors who remember when comic shops were packed with action figures based on characters well outside Marvel and DC.
This is Scarlet X from the Crimson Action Figures line, based on the supernatural comic series created by Humberto Ramos and Brian Augustyn.
Originally launched in 1998, Crimson followed teenager Alex Elder, whose life changes rather dramatically after he's attacked by vampires and becomes one himself. What follows expands into a much bigger supernatural mythology involving vampires, angels, demons, ancient powers and the approaching apocalypse.
And Scarlet X is definitely one of the characters who stands out visually.

Crimson is also an interesting piece of comic history. It began under Cliffhanger, the creator-driven imprint associated with WildStorm, during a period when books such as Crimson, Danger Girl and Battle Chasers were bringing a very different visual energy to comic-shop shelves.
Humberto Ramos' exaggerated anatomy, sharp expressions and kinetic style made Crimson instantly recognizable—and seeing that artwork translated into physical figures is pure late-'90s nostalgia.
This is the kind of stuff I love finding in an older collection. Not necessarily the character everybody walking through the door recognizes immediately, but something that makes another collector stop and say:
“Holy shit, I remember Crimson.”
That's what collecting is all about.
