Design Advanced Defence Systems from Concept to Qualification
Rheinmetall Nordic develops advanced, high-performance systems that support current and future defence capabilities. We are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong analytical mindset who wants to contribute to the development of innovative products from concept through qualification and production.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering environment where you will work closely with mechanical, electronics, and systems engineers to solve complex technical challenges. Our projects cover the entire product lifecycle, allowing you to make a real impact on products that are critical to defence operations.
Your responsibilities
Mechanical concept development, system architecture, and product innovation
Mechanical design and engineering of complex assemblies and systems
Structural analysis, strength calculations, and FEA simulations
Technical assessments, design reviews, testing, verification, and product qualification
Development of technical documentation, engineering reports, and design records
Cross-functional collaboration with systems engineering, production, supply chain, and other stakeholders
Your qualifications
We are looking for an engineer who combines strong theoretical knowledge with practical engineering skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, engineering, and product development
Strong analytical skills with experience in structural mechanics, strength calculations, and FEA
Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or equivalent
Proficiency in 3D CAD software and understanding of materials and mechanical behaviour
Experience from the defence industry or other highly regulated industries is an advantage
