Manufacturing Engineer

IKM WellDrone Technologies AS

  • Søknadsfrist 1.9.2026
  • Ansettelsesform Fast

Want to work closely with the industry's most advanced downhole tools for the oil and gas sector?

At IKM WellDrone, we develop and build advanced, robotic downhole tools for the international well intervention market. We already have several innovative products in our portfolio, and now we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who can help us streamline and optimize the journey from R&D to full serial production.

This isn't a role where you’ll be sitting miles away from what’s actually being built. Right from the start, you’ll spend plenty of time on the shop floor to get a hands-on understanding of how our high-tech tools are assembled from the ground up.

Working closely with our Engineering and Operations teams, you will play a key role across the entire lifecycle. You will drive Design for Manufacture (DfM) reviews, implement lean principles, and establish efficient data workflows between our ERP and PDM systems. This is your opportunity to shape the manufacturing processes for a fast-growing company with global ambitions.

What we offer

You will take on a key role in an agile tech environment, with the financial stability of the IKM Group.

  • Impact & influence: You get significant responsibility from day one. Shape our manufacturing systems and work methods.

  • Growth & stability: We are a small, technically focused, and dynamic team with ambitions. Joining us now means you get to impact how we work and great social work environment with development and career opportunities.

  • Perks: Competitive salary, pension and insurance, and flexible working hours. Also subsidized canteen, on-site parking, fitness and wellbeing benefits.

Key responsibilities

You'll take R&D's designs and turn them into complete manufacturing and assembly packages — reviewing them for manufacturability, assembly, testability, quality and cost, and working closely with R&D to resolve issues and improve designs along the way. From there, you'll develop assembly, manufacturing, inspection and test procedures, design tools, fixtures and jigs, and coordinate and prioritise work for assembly technicians — making sure materials, tools and documentation are ready when needed. You'll also manage day-to-day manufacturing quality, including non-conformances, root-cause investigations and corrective actions, and work with external suppliers on quotes, technical issues, delivery and quality.

Alongside this, you'll help keep manufacturing data and systems in shape — improving how ERP/MRP and product-data-management tools are used across purchasing, inventory, production and traceability — while always looking for ways to cut cost, lead time, waste and rework, and support new products on their way into stable production.

The position reports to the Engineering Manager at our facility in Stavanger.

Who we are looking for

You hold a degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or have equivalent practical experience. You have a solid understanding of machining processes, assembly, and testing of complex mechanical components. Experience with 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks) and downhole equipment is a major advantage.

  • Structure & ownership: You are skilled at reading engineering drawings, structuring Bills of Materials (BoMs), and drafting clear assembly procedures. You have practical experience with ERP and PDM systems (ideally Microsoft Business Central) and possess the ability to introduce production structure. You take ownership of your tasks and keep track of details even when priorities shift.

  • Team player: You collaborate effectively across teams – from R&D engineers to external suppliers. You dare to challenge existing methods, are dependable and suggest practical improvements. You are eager to build your expertise in a cutting-edge technological environment and learn from some of the best in the industry.

Since our working language is English, professional fluency is required.
