Senior People & Culture Partner

Fossefall AS

Help us build the People & Culture foundation for what Fossefall is becoming

Fossefall is growing quickly. We're around 40 people today, building across countries, hiring extensively and developing an organisation alongside the infrastructure we're here to create.

That changes what we need from People & Culture.

At this stage, good intentions and informal ways of working aren't enough. We need strong people processes, sound employment practices and an employee experience that can scale with the company — without losing the warmth, curiosity and sense of ownership we value today.

That's why this role exists.

We're looking for an experienced People & Culture professional who wants to help build that foundation: someone who can turn ambition into practical ways of working, give leaders advice they can actually use, and take real ownership of the employee experience from recruitment through everyday working life.

The opportunity

People & Culture is still a young function at Fossefall.

You'll join the Head of People & Culture and work closely with colleagues and leaders across the company. Some of what you inherit will already work well. Some needs improving. And some simply hasn't been built yet.

That's part of the opportunity.

We believe good structure protects and amplifies culture. The policies, processes and systems we build shouldn't create bureaucracy around people; they should make it easier for people to do great work, for leaders to lead well, and for the organisation to grow responsibly.

You'll have significant influence over what that looks like in practice.

What you'll own

You'll take broad, hands-on ownership across People & Culture, with a particular focus on building and operating our Norwegian HR foundation.

That includes:

  • Developing, implementing and continuously improving core People & Culture processes across the employee lifecycle — from onboarding and everyday employment practices to offboarding.

  • Building and maintaining practical policies, handbook content, HR documentation and recurring compliance processes.

  • Owning and improving our HRIS and the P&C annual cycle, making sure recurring people processes actually happen and work.

  • Being a trusted sparring partner for leaders on organisational questions, performance, difficult conversations and everyday people decisions.

  • Translating Norwegian employment law into practical guidance, while knowing when specialist legal support is needed.

  • Supporting workforce planning, recruitment and people matters, with an initial emphasis on Project Delivery and the mix of permanent employees, consultants and external capacity required as our projects scale.

  • Contributing to organisational design, compensation, levelling and other structures as the company grows.

We're still a small team. You'll have clear areas that are genuinely yours, while also contributing wherever People & Culture needs you most.

What success looks like

Within your first year, managers know where to go when they need good People & Culture advice — and they come to you because you help them move forward.

Our core employee processes are clear, useful and consistently followed. Our systems save time. Our documentation and compliance are in good shape. New colleagues experience thoughtful onboarding, and leaders have practical support when people situations become difficult.

You don't wait for someone to point out every need. You spot what could work better, bring forward recommendations and help make it happen — while keeping the right people involved.

Most importantly, the People & Culture foundation is becoming strong enough to scale with Fossefall without becoming heavier than the organisation needs.

About you

We're looking for someone with solid, hands-on HR experience who enjoys both building and operating.

You'll probably thrive here if you can take an area, understand what's needed, build a sensible solution and make it work in practice — without waiting for a perfect instruction manual.

You'll need:

  • Strong experience developing, implementing and running core HR/People & Culture processes.

  • A solid working knowledge of Norwegian employment law and confidence handling everyday employment matters.

  • Experience partnering directly with leaders, not only administering HR processes.

  • Confidence working with HR systems and employee data.

  • Fluency in Norwegian and professional English.

Experience from construction, infrastructure, project delivery or another project-intensive environment would be particularly valuable, as would experience working with mixed workforce models involving employees, consultants and staffing partners.

Just as important is how you work. You're structured without becoming bureaucratic, confident without needing to prove it, comfortable taking ownership, generous with colleagues and curious enough to ask why before deciding how.

You don't need to have all the answers. Neither do we. But you should enjoy finding good ones together — and using your expertise to make other people successful.

Where the role can go

You'll join early enough to shape both the role and the function.

We don't want to promise a title or career path we can't predict. What we can say is that Fossefall's ambitions are significant. If the business grows as we believe it can, the organisation — and the People & Culture challenges around it — will grow with it.

The Head of People & Culture owns the overall function. Within that direction, we want this role to have genuine ownership: when we agree that an area is yours, you should have the trust and mandate to make it work.

Why Fossefall?

We're building a company at the same time as we're building its business.

That means many of the choices that larger organisations made years ago are still ours to make: how we lead, how we organise, what we formalise, what we deliberately keep simple, and what kind of workplace we want Fossefall to become.

For someone who cares about People & Culture, that's a rare opportunity.

You'll join while the patterns are still being formed. What you build can become how Fossefall works for years to come. You'll work close to company leadership, alongside highly capable colleagues, and have considerably more influence than the size of the People & Culture team might suggest.

We're ambitious about the company we're building. And we think building a high-performing business and building a genuinely great place to work should be the same project.

About Fossefall

Fossefall is a Nordic AI infrastructure company founded in 2025. We develop and operate AI factories powered by renewable energy, turning clean Nordic power into scalable, sovereign computing capacity for Europe — built in partnership with local communities, energy producers and technology leaders across the world.

As a team, we're still small enough to know each other as people. We're curious — about each other and about how the whole machine fits together — and we explain the why behind what we do.

We're warm and generous with one another, and no one is left alone with a problem: we think out loud and bounce ideas together. We're clear about who owns what, and we do what we say we will.

That's enough for now. We'd rather continue the conversation from there. That tells us much more about how you think and work. We'll take it from there.
