About the role:

We are looking for an experienced sourcing specialist to join our global team of global category managers. You will use your considerable skills and experience to develop, lead and execute our global category for finished goods. You will work closely with suppliers, business management, manufacturing, project management and sourcing, focusing on delivering finished medical devices to an optimal cost, quality, service level and acceptable lead times within your category. The Finished Goods Category is all about to source finished off-the-shelf products, contracted products produced by our sub-suppliers and licensed goods which are sold directly to our customers. Very often these are products of a medical grade.

Some of what you will be doing:

• Lead and develop the Finished Goods category.

• Sourcing and supplier follow-up activities related to Finished Goods across the Laerdal portfolio (direct)

• This includes: optimal cost, quality and lead times.

• Cost optimization (TCO) for the portfolio

• Service levels to plant / DC

• Support expediting activities of components when needed

• Monitor product quality and initiate mitigation actions when necessary

• Develop and execute Finished Goods category strategy

• Secure compliance to quality and regulatory requirements, Laerdal policies, including corporate social responsibility/code of conduct and our general processes

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop the Finished Goods Category

• Establish and maintain the category operating model

• Clarify roles, responsibilities and deliveries together with Strategic Sourcing Director / Manager Global Categories

• Manage stakeholders

• Develop the Finished Goods Category fact based

• Internal technical portfolio maintenance

Some key competencies:

• Product- and regulatory knowledge - Medical Devices

• Knowledge to ISO requirements (ISO 9001 and ISO 13485)

• Knowledge of supplier auditing 

• Knowledge about sourcing activities

About you:

You hold a relevant Bachelor/Master degree in a technical discipline or have relevant experience to compensate. Preferably you also have a minimum of 5 years experience in Sourcing and Procurement. You are analytical, driven and motivated to take on extensive responsibility and high workload.

You should also have:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and in writing)

• Extensive cross functional experience and wide organizational understanding

• Experience building relationships and strong stakeholder management.

• Ideally you have relevant sourcing experience, and ability to drive category plan and execution.

• A fast learner, willing to execute a broad range of tasks/implement improvements

• Proven performance that demonstrates high accountability, strong initiative, with a sense-of-urgency and an entrepreneurial approach

• Good collaboration skills - a true team player
