For our custommer we are loooking for a Buyer  (3+ years experience) that we are planning to hire from January.

Role Summary/Purpose

The Indirect Buyer Specialist is responsible for the commodities assigned, managing wing to wing all the materials and services purchasing phases, from supplier scouting, to order placing and contract management.

He/She is accountable to solve complex problems, execute objectives, and support short-term/long-term business goals. Is accountable for functional, business, and operational company objectives. Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Is involved in operational and financial planning and contributes to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Be accountable for materials and services sourcing and procurement within the assigned indirect commodities driving deflation, variable cost productivity, cash flow targets.

2. Lead procurement operations, from request for quotation to order issuing, ensuring process execution is performed in compliance with company policies and procedures.

3. Have responsibility on a group of company strategic suppliers for the indirect buy, with orders of medium/high complexity or/and medium/high annual volume.

4. Develop, implement, and lead overall supplier strategy, in coordination with commodity strategy, including simplification, ensuring sourcing process integrity, and optimization of productivity, quality and fulfillment.

5. Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance to validate the impact of projects to the general ledger.

6. Influence cross functional team involved in the purchase, being the focal point for a shared process in supplier selection, capable to drive decision making through influencing skills.

7. Develop technical and market expertise in assigned commodity area teaming and working closely with global indirect sourcing team and with businesses and functions

8. Identify and assess supplier capabilities; measure and manage supplier performance

9. Negotiate lowest possible cost while maintaining the highest quality of goods and services

10. Interface with other business sourcing teams and participate in company strategic sourcing initiatives.

Qualifications/Requirement

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Finance.

2. Have proven experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain background.

3. High-energy, self-motivated, willing to take on responsibilities across functions and teams’ boundaries.

4. Negotiation skills.

5. Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Norwegian, including executive communication.

6. Ability to coach & influence peers and senior management.

7. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

8. Superior listening skills

9. Willingness and ability to travel

10. Have a valid Norwegian work permit

Desired Characteristics         

1. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

2. Oracle, Ariba

3. Negotiation expertise is preferred

4. Strong project management and process improvement skills
