Technology and data is a key driver to AquaGen’s development across production, research and administration. To strengthen our internal expertise, we are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer.

In this newly established role, you will develop and manage infrastructure and analytics solutions in AWS, Azure and our Fabric data platform. Acting as a technical link between internal expert teams and external technology partners, you will ensure that Aquagen’s platforms, dataflows and integrations support research, production, reporting and datasharing in a secure and efficient way.

You will be supported by a strong team

You will be part of AquaGen’s IT and digital team, working closely with the IT Manager, our R&D department, production OT and other subject matter experts and external technology partners.

You will have significant influence within your area of expertise, while architecture, priorities, and technology choices are developed and aligned in close collaboration with relevant expert teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage cloud, analytic and platform infrastructure across AWS, Azure and Microsoft Fabric.

• Develop and maintain integrations and technical interfaces between systems, data sources, cloud platforms and production-related solutions.

• Technical responsibility for our R&D department compute and analytics platform on AWS

• Drive standardization, automation and continuous improvement through shell scripting, (e.g. Bash), and Infrastructure as Code.

• Contribute to secure, stable and auditable operations through configuration management, technical documentation, change control and risk-mitigation measures.

• Work closely with R&D, production, specialist functions and external technology partners to develop effective cloud, data and analytics solutions that support both research and production.

You have a strong understanding of technology and enjoy working at the intersection of cloud, platform, data and integrations. You are analytical, structured and curious about how technology creates business value, with the ability to see connections between business needs, systems, data and security.

You enjoy collaborating across disciplines and are motivated to help strengthen AquaGen’s internal technology capabilities. You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, build strong relationships, and can document and explain technical solutions in a clear and accessible manner. The working language for this position is English. Knowledge of Norwegian and Spanish is considered an advantage.

Professional Qualifications

• Higher education in IT or a related technical field or equivalent professional experience

• Solid experience with cloud and platform technology, primarily AWS and secondarily Azure. A willingness and motivation to work across both platforms is essential

• Experience with integrations, enterprise systems and service integration

• Experience with secure configuration and cloud/platform security

• Experience with automation, scripting, programming or Infrastructure as Code

Additional experience that is beneficial

Experience with Microsoft Fabric, data platforms, BI solutions, APIs, DevOps or system integrations is considered an advantage. Familiarity with governance, vendor management, IT/OT environments and security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIS2 is also valuable.

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. What matters most is that you have a solid foundation in cloud and platform technology, an understanding of how technologies fit together, and the motivation to keep developing.

The position reports to the IT Manager. Some travel to our national and international locations should be expected.
