WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Engineering organization within Power Transmission, based in Halden or Oslo, Norway.

Our engineering teams are highly specialized and multidisciplinary, supporting some of the world's most advanced high-voltage cable system projects. The department is responsible for product design, engineering, technical documentation, testing, qualification, and project execution related to global delivery projects and continuous product development.

As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Lead Engineers, Engineering Managers, manufacturing units, project teams, and clients, contributing to the successful delivery of large-scale EPCI projects worldwide. Depending on experience, the position can be aligned at Graduate Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Specialist level.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technical solutions that support Nexans' complex cable projects from engineering design through manufacturing, testing, installation, and final project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Executing engineering activities within assigned projects, ensuring technical deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards

* Preparing technical documentation, engineering calculations, procedures, and project deliverables according to contract requirements and internal standards

* Supporting product design activities, manufacturing follow-up, testing activities, and installation support throughout project execution

* Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, operational units, manufacturing plants, and project stakeholders globally

* Supporting tender activities through technical input, solution evaluation, risk assessments, and technical quality review

* Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, standardization work, lessons learned activities, and technical development across engineering teams

* Working with project management systems, engineering tools, documentation control, and change management processes according to Nexans project standards

* Supporting technical problem-solving and ensuring project execution follows industry standards, contractual requirements, and Nexans best practices

* Contributing to process improvements and helping strengthen competence development and knowledge sharing across the organization

YOUR STARTING POINT

We know the best candidates do not always match every requirement perfectly, but the following background will help you succeed in the role:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline

* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience is preferred within engineering, technical project work, industrial manufacturing, or infrastructure projects

* Experience working with mechanical or electrical design, technical documentation, product development, or engineering calculations

* Experience working in project-driven organizations with multidisciplinary teams and multiple technical interfaces

* Strong technical understanding combined with structured and systematic ways of working

* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within dynamic project teams

* Comfortable working with standardization, process improvement, and technical development activities

* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly and find practical solutions when facing technical challenges

* Strong English communication skills, written and verbal. Norwegian language skills are considered an advantage
