We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer with software experience to be a key player in our Warranty team, to handle claims, perform inspections, and carry out warranty activities to close the claim.
Both remote and global on-site support will be required.
You will be part of a team with a strong technical background who thrives on providing excellent customer service
The position is based in MacGregor’s office in Kristiansand, Norway.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Coordinate job tasks with customers, including following up on technical matters and equipment spare parts.
- Providing technical support, testing and troubleshooting (online/on-site).
- Provide support and guidance to other service engineers in the field.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Participate in the 24/7 OnWatch rotation.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will need a strong service-oriented and customer-focused mindset and the technical expertise to effectively diagnose and resolve complex issues.
Success is driven by the ability to manage warranty activities efficiently, communicate clearly with customers and colleagues, and adapt to frequent global travel for onsite support.
Ideally you have:
- A degree in Electrical and Software automation or in a closely related subject.
- Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance and services on offshore equipment.
- Diverse knowledge in PLC, Hydraulic and Mechanical disciplines is an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to undertake frequent overseas travel- both planned and on short notice.
- Good English and Norwegian language skills, both written and spoken.
- Have strong communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- A highly customer service-oriented attitude and proven ability to work as a team player.
