About the Role

We are expanding the number of Feature Developers within DP&A to meet a growing demand for new value creation for our customers.  We are looking for a person who 

• can translate customer needs into concrete product features

• takes a value-driven approach

• makes decisions based on data.

We are on a mission to deliver full automation solutions, following the vision statement from our Senior Vice President which is that “NOV will be rewarded for the delivery of value through integrity, purposeful innovation and clean execution”. 

As a feature developer you are a part of the core team, ensuring that everything we build delivers real customer value and drives purposeful innovation.  You will work closely with both internal and external customers to understand their needs and translate them into impactful solutions. In collaboration with product teams, you will investigate and define changes to existing or new features that enhance our offerings and create measurable value.

You will collaborate with a distributed team of Feature Developers across multiple locations, with occasional travel as part of the role.

Primary work location is Kristiansand, with Stavanger as an additional work location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of our products and their capabilities 

• Identify and analyze customer pain points and operational challenges 

• Evaluate and define the value our solutions can deliver to customers

• Contribute to shaping the strategic direction of our product portfolio

• Define new features, including their capabilities, objectives, and requirements

• Collaborate across product lines to leverage NOV’s strength as an integrated solution provider

• Ensure delivered features drive measurable improvements in performance, safety, or automation

Qualifications & Skill

Essential Qualifications: 

• Strong communication skills in English and Norwegian 

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

• Technical savviness

• Ability to take a holistic, systems-level approach

• Knowledge of rig processes 

• Knowledge and understanding of software and programming

• Product mindset with ability to prioritize, define value, and drive feature decisions

• Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with NOV software solution offerings

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
