Head of Offshore Personnel | Golar LNG
Golar LNG employs close to 300 offshore personnel from more than 20 nationalities, all managed within Golar companies. As we continue to develop and operate our growing FLNG fleet, we are now seeking a Head of Offshore Personnel to lead and shape the strategic management of offshore manning across our assets.
This is a key leadership role within Golar. You will be part of the FLNG Operations leadership team, reporting directly to the COO, and working closely with Asset Managers and the Corporate HR function. The role offers a unique opportunity to influence how we develop our offshore workforce and build long-term capability across the fleet.
The position is based in Oslo, Norway, and requires flexibility and willingness to travel to our global sites and FLNG operations.
Key responsibilitiesAs Head of Offshore Personnel, you will:
Develop and maintain strategies, policies, and operational procedures aligned with Golar’s long-term goals for offshore personnel management.
Lead and support a team of Offshore Personnel Managers delivering recruitment, rotation planning, payroll, and day-to-day offshore personnel support to the Asset teams.
Drive long-term workforce planning across the fleet, including succession planning, talent development, and ensuring robust frameworks for performance appraisals.
Prepare annual offshore personnel budgets for each asset, with ongoing cost control and review of actual expenditures.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and contractual requirements, supporting audits and inspections from flag state, class, charterers, and authorities.
Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes supporting offshore HR operations.
We are looking for a senior professional with:
Extensive experience in offshore personnel or crewing management within a multinational maritime or offshore organization.
Proven leadership capability and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
Solid understanding of offshore HR frameworks, regulatory requirements (MLC/STCW), and operational workforce planning.
Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Experience with FLNG, FPSO, or similar offshore operations is an advantage.
