Develop Strategic Sourcing in Hydro

Hydro Aluminium Metal is a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods, and high-purity aluminium, with a global production network of around 6,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil, and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminium production is based on renewable energy.

The Strategic Sourcing unit is overall responsible for sourcing and commercial activities within raw materials and procurement to Hydro Aluminium Metal's fully owned smelters and recyclers, as well as joint venture smelters where service agreements are established. Key responsibilities include procurement and supplier management, cost and risk management, sustainability and compliance management, and business and portfolio development.

The newly formed Business Development & Support (BD&S) team in Strategic Sourcing is now seeking an enterprising and result oriented Business Development and Improvement Manager.

What you will be doing

You will drive strategy implementation and performance management, lead significant improvement projects, and hold central responsibility in the annual business and budget planning process for Strategic Sourcing.

Main tasks:

• Lead the Program Management Office (PMO) for strategy implementation and commercial improvements in Strategic Sourcing

• Lead cross-functional improvement teams and initiatives

• Coordinate the annual business plan process and lead reporting of improvement and KPI development throughout the year

• Drive major improvement projects, both strategic and tactical across raw materials and indirect categories

• Support category managers with market, cost and benchmark analyses

• Responsible for coordinating and prioritizing the support needs from the organization, including resource allocation

• Lead development and implementation of digital tools; process optimization and spend analyses

• Ensure alignment with governance and Strategic Sourcing objectives

What will make you successful?

• Master's degree in business, engineering or similar

• 5 years or more experience in consulting and/or business development, transformation, project management

• Knowledge or experience from Supply Chain, Sourcing, Procurement and/or Logistics

• Strong analytical capabilities and ability to use and learn a wide array of tools; SAP, SAC, Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot, etc.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

• Structured and business-oriented way of working

• Ability to work both independently and in team to meet deadlines

• Strong skills in Norwegian and English are required

The position reports to VP Business Development & Support and is based at Hydro's head office at Vækerø, Oslo. Some travel should be expected in this role.
