Join Our Team as Product Manager Ecotone UHI
Are you passionate about technology, product development, and the ocean? Do you want to help bring pioneering hyperspectral imaging solutions to the subsea market? If so, we invite you to join us as Product Manager for Ecotone’s UHI-cameras!
About Us
Eelume is a pioneering technology company founded in 2015 as a spin-off from NTNU. We develop modular, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) with exceptional maneuvering capabilities for sustainable seabed mapping and inspection of underwater infrastructure. Our team of highly skilled professionals is dedicated to creating world-leading technology with a focus on innovation and excellence. Located in Trondheim near Nyhavna, we have excellent access to the sea for testing and development.
In 2024, Eelume acquired Ecotone, a company specializing in underwater hyperspectral imaging (UHI). This strategic move brought advanced optical sensing technology into our portfolio, strengthening our ability to deliver detailed subsea insight for environmental monitoring, research, and industrial applications. By combining Eelume’s AUVs with Ecotone’s UHI sensors, we are uniquely positioned to develop integrated subsea imaging solutions.
Your Role
As Product Manager Ecotone, you will have the technical ownership of our UHI camera technology within Eelume. This is a new and evolving role where you will work hands-on with the product across its full lifecycle.
You will be the primary internal expert on Ecotone’s UHI systems, covering the hardware, optics, illumination and software of the system. You will be working closely with our R&D mechanic design, electronics and software engineers. The role is well suited for someone who has experience with the development of electronics and software (C++, Qt, Python, Linux) and has interests in digital imaging, camera systems, optics, and light refraction.
You will:
Own and drive the technical roadmap for Ecotone’s UHI camera systems.
Define system requirements across optics, sensors, illumination, and software.
Work hands-on with configuration, setup, and operation of UHI software systems.
Follow up development, integration, verification, and testing activities.
Contribute to software-related troubleshooting, validation, and system improvements.
Work with component selection, ordering, assembly, calibration, and practical testing.
Participate in laboratory and field testing, including subsea deployments.
Contribute to technical documentation, system descriptions, and internal training.
Support customer dialogue from a technical and system-level perspective when needed.
Some travel activities must be expected.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a technically strong and hands-on individual who is motivated by taking ownership of advanced technology and developing it further in close collaboration with others.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. electronics, software, physics or similar).
Understanding and interest in, among others, camera and digital imaging systems, optics, refraction of light, color absorption.
Experience with or strong interest in software used for camera systems, data acquisition, configuration, and analysis.
Ability to work with and understand software interfaces.
Good communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
Personal qualities:
Structured and analytical.
Curious and hands-on.
Comfortable working independently with end-to-end responsibility.
Collaborative and solution oriented.
Motivated to build deep technical expertise and product ownership.
Why Join Eelume?
At Eelume you will:
Have technical ownership of a unique and world-leading UHI technology.
Work closely with advanced optics, sensors, and software in subsea systems.
Be part of a highly competent, interdisciplinary, and supportive team.
Enjoy flexibility, including partial home office solutions.
Benefit from competitive terms, including pension and insurance schemes.
