Product Developer at Amundsen Sports

We are looking for a Product Developer to strengthen our product team.

If you are the person we are looking for, you are interested in details, technical solutions, fit and function for a product. It is an advantage if you already have working experience where you have been responsible for product development including tech pack creation, prototype reviews, product fit, price negotiation and vendor communication. You are eager about making the best products in the market that differentiate, compare to other outdoor brands. You are organised and used to structure your work to achieve the best protos and make sure a style is 100% finalized before production.

As a Product Developer you will be an important team player during the whole design and development process.

You will report to the Product Director.

Main Responsibilities:

• Follow a style from design handover until the Pre-production sample is approved.

• Create informative Tech Packs with updated sketches, Size chart, BOM and all necessary product information.

• To develop and possible design and source parts, details and solutions related to allocated products.

• Following up proto deliveries according to our timeline.

• Responsible for costing sheets for each proto stage and negotiate price to reach our target price.

• Measuring protos.

• Take part in fit session together with design team.

• To update drawings in TP’s according to technical specifications and proto comments.

• Update TP’s with sample comments.

• Make sure all vendors have the fabrics/trims they need to make protos/SMS.

• To do inhouse product testing, such as wash-, trim- and color- testing and construction testing.

• To communicate and work closely with designers, sales, marketing, logistic and vendors.

Your Profile:

• Minimum of 3 years design/product development education. Within clothing is preferable.

• 2 years working experience within product development is preferable (Within technical/sports clothing).

• Proactive and flexible.

• Creative and passioned for making the best products in the market.

• Interested in details, technical solutions, fit and function for a product.

• Understand our market and the customer.

• Organized, problem-solving skills, ability to set priorities and manage deadlines.

• Understanding and interest in environmental concerns.

• Good team player but can also work independent.

• Like working in small teams

• Positive and solution-oriented mindset.

• Professional attitude and enjoy a high pace of work. 

• Outdoor enthusiast

You already manage:

• Illustrator

• Photoshop

• Excel

• Outlook

• Experience from PLM systems is preferable.

• Fluent in English
