HYPER powered by KSAT seeks Program Manager!
Location: Tromsø, Oslo, Trondheim, or Stockholm. Regular travel to supplier, launch, and customer sites, including outside Europe.
Type: Full-time
Reports to: Head of Programs, Hyper
Eligibility: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NATO security clearance, and hold the right to work in Norway or Sweden.
About KSAT Hyper
KSAT (Kongsberg Satellite Services) is building Hyper, a next-generation communications service delivering a real-time, global relay network by integrating a LEO satellite constellation with KSAT's extensive ground infrastructure. Hyper provides seamless, low-latency connectivity and data delivery for satellite operators across defence, civil, and commercial domains.
We are now hiring a Program Manager to sit within the Hyper Programs function, reporting to the Head of Programs. This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who has seen hardware reach orbit — and knows what it takes to get it there on schedule and within budget.
Your Role
As Program Manager, you will own end-to-end delivery of one or more Hyper program workstreams — from early design through launch and in-orbit commissioning. You will coordinate across internal engineering, external suppliers, and launch service providers, and keep the program on track against cost, schedule, and technical baselines.
As Program Manager, you will:
Own the integrated schedule, budget, and risk register for your program scope, reporting status and critical-path risks to the Head of Programs.
Manage relationships with external suppliers and subcontractors — tracking deliverables, chairing milestone reviews, and enforcing acceptance criteria.
Coordinate across internal workstreams (payload, software, ground, regulatory) to maintain interface alignment and surface cross-team dependencies early.
Plan and execute program gate reviews (KO, PDR, CDR, TRR, ORR); define entry and exit criteria and drive open actions to dated closure.
Own procurement inputs for your scope: SOW development, supplier selection, contract milestone definition, and change control.
Maintain the program risk register, track mitigations, and escalate blockers that threaten the critical path.
Support launch campaign planning and coordination with launch service providers, including environmental testing, documentation, and on-site representation as required.
Contribute to program reporting, stakeholder briefings, and board-level status updates in coordination with the Head of Programs.
Key Focus Areas
Integrated schedule and cost performance — earned value, variance analysis, and recovery planning
Supplier and subcontractor management through requirements, qualification, review, and acceptance
Cross-functional coordination across payload, software, ground, and regulatory teams
Gate governance and risk management from development through launch
Launch campaign planning and in-orbit commissioning support
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
7+ years of program or project management experience in space, satellite, or aerospace, with direct responsibility for hardware development and delivery.
Demonstrated experience delivering hardware to orbit — from component development through integration, environmental testing, launch, and on-orbit commissioning.
Proven ability to manage external suppliers through requirements flow-down, milestone reviews, and formal acceptance.
Strong command of schedule management tools and techniques (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent); experience with critical-path analysis and earned-value management.
Experience planning and executing major design and readiness reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, ORR).
Excellent cross-functional coordination, risk management, and written communication skills.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Based in, or willing to relocate to, Tromsø, Oslo, Trondheim, or Stockholm, and able to travel to supplier, launch, and customer sites internationally.
Right to work in Norway or Sweden, and able to obtain and maintain a NATO security clearance.
Preferred
Experience on LEO smallsat or constellation programs.
Familiarity with relay, communications, or data-delivery satellite systems.
Existing national or NATO security clearance (Secret / Hemmelig or above).
Experience working within or alongside European space primes, ESA, or national space agency programs, or with U.S. primes and launch providers.
Working proficiency in Norwegian or Swedish.
Why Join KSAT Hyper

Work from Tromsø, Oslo, Trondheim, or Stockholm — at the centre of the Nordic space and defence ecosystem, and close to KSAT's own ground network.
