As Kongsberg Maritime continues its journey as an independent company, we are bringing our technology capabilities together in one unified IT organization. Reporting directly to the SVP IT and serving on the IT Leadership Team, you will play a central role in developing a business-focused, platform-oriented and scalable IT organization.

You will own the enterprise Data & AI direction and establish the operating model, governance and technology foundations for trusted, reusable and responsible use of data and AI. Your mandate spans data strategy, governance, master data, data platforms, analytics, AI enablement and responsible AI adoption.

A key part of the role is creating clear accountability between IT and the business, making Data & AI a practical driver of better decisions, efficient operations, innovation and growth.

What you will be doing

• Define and execute the enterprise Data & AI strategy and operating model.
• Build scalable data platforms, shared services and reusable data products that enable trusted analytics and AI.
• Establish clear governance for data ownership, quality, master data, access, security and compliance.
• Drive responsible and scalable adoption of analytics and AI, prioritizing investments based on business value, feasibility and risk.
• Build and lead strong Data & AI capabilities, developing people, expertise and culture while creating strong collaboration across IT and the business.
• Drive transformation, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the Data & AI area.
• Contribute actively to the IT Leadership Team and take responsibility for financial performance, governance and results within your area.

We think you should have

• Significant leadership experience within Data, AI, Analytics, Digital or Technology, with a track record of leading enterprise transformation.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise Data & AI strategies and operating models.
• Strong understanding of modern data platforms, analytics, architecture and AI.
• Experience with governance, security, privacy and risk management related to data and AI.
• Strong strategic, commercial and financial judgment, with the ability to prioritize investments, influence senior stakeholders and deliver measurable business value.
• Relevant higher education is preferred, although substantial relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications.

Where you will be working

We are open to candidates based at one of Kongsberg Maritime's major locations in Norway, including Kongsberg, Lysaker, Ålesund, Horten, Bergen and Trondheim. Other European locations may also be considered for the right candidate. Some travel should be expected.
