🔥 McFARLANE MASTERWORKS — RE-MASTERED SPAWN KICKSTARTER
Now this is Spawn done properly.
This is the 2020 McFarlane Toys Re-Mastered Original Spawn, created through Todd McFarlane’s record-breaking Kickstarter campaign celebrating the figure that helped launch McFarlane Toys back in 1995.
And these aren’t just standard retail figures.
The photos show two versions of the Kickstarter Spawn, presented in the oversized Masterworks collector boxes with fitted foam, alternate heads, weapons and accessories. One features the classic red-and-black Spawn treatment, while the other has the striking monochromatic/artist-proof-style finish.
The red Spawn also includes something particularly cool: the Todd McFarlane signature plaque displayed right inside the Masterworks presentation.
📜 Both include Certificates of Authenticity signed by Todd McFarlane.
The COA tells part of the story itself. The campaign brought in roughly $3.4 million from more than 23,000 backers and, according to McFarlane Toys, established two Kickstarter records for a toy campaign at the time.
The figures themselves are loaded with display options—huge articulated capes, alternate portraits, Spawn's massive sword and firearms, Necroplasm effects and other accessories depending on the version/tier.
What I love about this release is that it essentially brings Spawn collecting full circle. Todd went back to the character and the figure that helped redefine the action-figure aisle in the '90s, then rebuilt it for collectors 25 years later with modern sculpting and articulation while deliberately retaining that unmistakable original Spawn aesthetic.
And the Masterworks presentation makes these feel less like toys and more like opening a damn museum case.
Definitely two of the centerpieces from this collection.
