Looking for a Materials Engineer in Additive Manufacturing

Norsk Titanium is pioneering a new era of on-demand metal additive manufacturing that will revolutionize the raw material supply chain. We are the world’s first and only OEM qualified supplier of additively manufactured structural titanium components.

We aim to strengthen our engineering team with a Materials Engineer to produce foundational data for the RPD® process involving titanium, nickel-based alloys, and other metals.

In addition, this role will be responsible for performing and coordinating material testing, driving material data and alloy development, as well as building an in-depth understanding of the link between process conditions and resulting material properties.

You will be part of the Eggemoen Technology Center team, working alongside experts in automation, mechanical design, software development, metallurgy, process control, and image processing.

What your days look like:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth expertise in our RPD® additive manufacturing process, material science and metallurgy, especially Titanium and Nickel-based alloys

  • Plan, perform and evaluate material characterization in our Metallographic Laboratory to expand the foundational basis for the RPD® process

  • Develop and mature alloys for the RPD® process

  • Initiate and supervise material testing at external laboratories

  • Establish, maintain and analyze material property data and material specifications

  • Lead and take part in development projects for Process Documentation and continuous process improvements

  • Provide materials expertise and present technical results in meetings with customers and suppliers

We’re thrilled to find Candidates with:

  • A university degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics, or a related discipline.

  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Knowledge of, or experience with, metallurgy and mechanical testing (preferred but not required).

  • The ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, multicultural environment and contribute positively to a strong team culture.

  • Experience with, or interest in, process industries, additive manufacturing, or aerospace technologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
