At NOV APL, we're looking for a Senior Swivel Engineer to join our Swivel Systems team in Arendal. You'll play a key role in designing and developing critical mechanical components for advanced offshore swivel systems while working alongside experienced specialists in a collaborative engineering environment.
This is an opportunity to work across the complete engineering lifecycle—from concept studies and FEED through detailed design, manufacturing support, testing, and project execution—while contributing to the continuous development of industry-leading technology.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Swivel Engineer, you will:
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for offshore swivel systems.
Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation using Autodesk Inventor.
Take technical ownership of assigned design packages from concept through execution.
Develop practical, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Support concept studies, FEED projects, detailed engineering, manufacturing, testing, and project execution.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, project management, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Participate in design reviews, engineering verification, and technical problem solving.
Identify opportunities for product improvements, standardization, and innovation.
Contribute to the development of future engineering methods, including digital and AI-assisted engineering tools.

As you grow into the role, you'll contribute to product improvements, support projects across the full engineering lifecycle, and help advance NOV's swivel technology through innovative, reliable engineering solutions.
What You'll Bring
Essential Qualifications
BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum five years of experience in mechanical design within offshore, subsea, heavy machinery, or similar industries.
Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor.
Solid understanding of:
Mechanical design
Manufacturing methods
GD&T
Engineering documentation
Experience working with industry standards such as DNV, API, ASME, or equivalent.
Strong communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following is an advantage:
Autodesk Vault
Navisworks
Structural or mechanical analysis
Offshore equipment
Pressure-containing equipment
Rotating machinery
Swivel systems
Product development
Standardization
Digital engineering or AI-assisted engineering tools

About the Team
You'll join a close-knit team of seven engineers based in Arendal. The team works collaboratively on project-based deliveries, sharing knowledge and supporting one another while maintaining a high level of technical ownership.
