Designer

The Designer has a vital role in the creation of Holzweiler Collection. The role is responsible for translating the brand vision and seasonal themes into creative and inspiring product. 

The key relationships for the role are with the rest of design team, product developer, garment technician and production and buying team, who together will lead the end-to-end product creation process.  

The Designer will be based in the Oslo HQ and report to the Head of Design and Design Director.   

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in the definition of creative concepts guided by Head of Design and Design Director, in line with Holzweiler brand and market needs.  

  • Responsible for balancing commercial and creative, with the view of creating Holzweiler Hero Products alongside brand building, image pieces. 

  • Translate Merchandising range plan into collection through design process, reference images, mock-ups, reference garments and final sketches. 

  • Responsible for creating collection overviews each season, ensure that overviews are at all times updated with lates changes.  

  • Collaboration with all category designers to ensure consistency in vision, details, colours, and fabric types. 

  • Responsible for designing and sourcing materials based on the company´s material guide and implementing eco-design criteria in the workflow. 

  • Responsible for designing all packaging related to each product. 

  • Present category inspiration, key details, fabrics, colours, and styling to all product teams as ‘kick off’ to proto process. 

  • Building and maintaining a close working partnership with Product Develoment team. Acting as the partner for product developer, cooperate and providing suggestions and feedback on styles, fabrics and trims, brainstorming ideas, and solutions to ensure the design vision is translated into a detailed tech pack and bill of materials. 

  • Responsible for timely handover of collection with feedback to Product Developer. 

  • Research on fabric and colour as well as collaborate on prints and embroideries and ensuring the final selection aligns with original concept. 

  • Responsible of the creation of first draft Tech Packs and Bill of Materials for each style.  

  • Partner closely with Product Developer team and Garment Technician in creation of tech pack and bill of materials. 

  • Accountable for measure and commenting proto in close cooperation with Product Development and Tech team, follow products until Sales man Sample stage. 

  • Participate in fitting sessions, ensuring product feasibility, and securing that Design desires are respected during commercialization and industrialization. 

  • Secure that product execution in consistent with creative concepts. 

  • Participating in collection presentations for commercial purposes. 

  • Support the Head of Design and Design Director as required. 

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of experience in fashion, lifestyle, luxury, or contemporary design

  • Proven experience developing collections and taking products from concept to final execution

  • Strong understanding of materials, construction, fit, color, and design development

  • Highly creative with a strong visual eye and a deep understanding of brand aesthetics and storytelling

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other relevant design tools

  • Ability to balance creativity with commercial awareness and customer needs

  • Structured, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally with product development, buying, merchandising, and marketing teams

  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Fluent in English; Scandinavian language skills are an advantage
