Analyst in NBIM (temp one-year)

Norges Bank Investment Management manages the Government Pension Fund Global and has assets worth more than 2 trillion USD. We are seeking a dedicated and results oriented Analyst to join us in a temporary, rotational role spanning two teams within Fund Administration. This is a split role: you will spend the first six months in Transaction Management, followed by six months in Asset Servicing. You will perform a variety of middle office and support functions across the full life cycle of a transaction. The ideal candidate has a background in IT development, a keen interest in applying technology and AI tools extensively and is eager to learn about financial products.

The position is located in Oslo. During the Transaction Management rotation you will report to the Head of Transaction Management, Karianne Bertram. During the Asset Servicing rotation you will report to the Head of Asset Servicing, Olav Sauar.

In the Transaction Management rotation, your tasks will include:

• Driving development initiatives across different processes within Transaction Management

• Utilising AI as a productivity tool

• Managing and settling transactions in an automated fashion

• Supporting all asset classes and instrument types, including equities, fixed income, derivatives and real assets

• Interacting with our global custodian and other vendors to manage deliveries and relationships
  

In the Asset Servicing rotation, your tasks will include:

• Investigating and resolving reconciliation breaks related to income statement using AI-tools.

• Make sure our derivatives holdings and cash flows are in line with broker statements
  
  

What you need

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, engineering, finance, economics or other numeric fields

• 1-3 years’ relevant experience

• A technical background through higher education and experience, with the capability to solve problems programmatically and a strong skillset in Python or equivalent languages and tools

• An understanding of, or eagerness to learn, financial instruments such as equity, fixed income and derivatives

• Ability to work under pressure during market hours

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
