The role 

We’re hiring a Principal Architect, SaaS Platform & AI to shape the next generation of our platform and AI capabilities. This is a senior, strategic and hands-on role at the intersection of software architecture, AI architecture and product strategy. 

You’ll work closely with the CTO and CPO, on how LCA.no builds, scales and applies AI across the business. It’s for someone who can define the target architecture, translate business needs into technical direction, prototype AI-enabled capabilities, guide external teams and establish the principles that help LCA.no become an AI-first SaaS company. 

What you’ll do 

• Own the platform architecture: define and evolve LCA.no’s SaaS architecture with a focus on scalability, reliability, security and product velocity. 

• Drive AI architecture and use cases: design how AI capabilities are prototyped, integrated and governed across the platform and identify high-value opportunities across customer workflows, building proofs of concept that demonstrate real product value. 

• Strengthen API and data architecture: support LCA.no’s create/share API strategy, integrations roadmap and data architecture as the platform scales. 

• Establish principles and standards: set architecture standards, development practices and technical governance, aligned with recognized industry best practices and company standards. 

Who you are 

You’re a senior architect, technologist and builder - comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on technical work. 

You may not want to write production code every day, but you’ve written enough software to know what good looks like, and you can still prototype when it matters. You understand that architecture is about speed, scalability, security and business outcomes, not just systems design. 

You’re excited by AI but not distracted by hype. You care about practical use cases, robust implementation and measurable impact. You can communicate clearly with executives, product leaders, developers and domain experts and you know how to create direction where things are still emerging. 

What you bring 

• Significant experience as a software architect, principal engineer, solution architect or senior technology lead. 

• Strong background in SaaS architecture, cloud-based platforms and modern software development. 

• Hands-on coding experience and the ability to prototype, evaluate technical approaches and guide implementation. 

• Practical experience with AI, LLMs, automation or AI-enabled product development. 

• Experience working with external development teams or distributed engineering setups. 

• Excellent written and spoken English. Norwegian is a plus. 

• C#, .NET / .NET Core, SQL Server and Azure are highly relevant. 

 Bonus points for 

• Experience from B2B SaaS companies in a scaling phase 

• Experience using AI to improve software development, testing, documentation or developer productivity 

• Kubernetes, Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, Dataverse or Power Platform 

• Security architecture, privacy, data governance or compliance 
  

Location and working model 

Our head office is in Fredrikstad, and we believe this role will have its strongest impact through regular time with the team. At the same time, we want to attract the right person and are open to a hybrid setup, including working remote combined with regular days on a weekly basis in Fredrikstad.
