Family Operations Coordinator Wanted for a Long-Term Role in a Private Home
On behalf of a resourceful and family-oriented household in Snarøya, Norway, we are seeking an experienced, professional, and highly organised Family Operations Coordinator & Household Manager for a long-term and central role within the family.
This is not a traditional nanny or housekeeping position. It is a multifaceted role combining family operations, household management, administration, logistics, travel coordination, digital organisation, and practical family support.
You will serve as a trusted right hand to the family, helping to create structure, efficiency, and peace of mind in a busy household. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, anticipates needs before they arise, and thrives in an environment where discretion, initiative, and high standards are valued.
The family has three children, aged 11, 7, and 5, who are active, curious, and well-functioning. The parents have demanding professional careers and are committed to providing a stable, warm, and well-organised family life. Areas of ResponsibilityFamily Operations & Child Support
- Coordinate and support the children's daily routines, school commitments, extracurricular activities and transportation
- Ensure that family logistics, schedules and transitions run smoothly
- Assist with planning and coordination of family activities
- Provide practical childcare support when needed
- Assist with travel logistics and family events
- Contribute to creating structure, predictability and stability in family life
- Coordinate and follow up on the family's daily practical needs
- Plan, implement and maintain household systems, routines and operational processes
- Ensure that the home remains organised, functional and well maintained
- Follow up maintenance needs related to the property, equipment and household assets
- Coordinate and supervise external service providers, including cleaners, maintenance personnel, contractors and suppliers
- Arrange service appointments, repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Manage household subscriptions, service agreements and recurring contracts
- Oversee household purchasing, supplies and inventory management
- Ensure that household essentials are consistently available
- Plan and carry out grocery shopping and household procurement
- Plan family meals in collaboration with the family
- Prepare and serve family meals some days of the week.
- Prepare simple meals and school lunches for the children when required
- Coordinate meals and practical arrangements during travel, events and visits from guests
- Maintain organisation and structure within kitchens, storage areas and common spaces
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve household efficiency and organisation
- Manage calendars, appointments and scheduling related to family operations
- Organise and maintain household documentation and digital records
- Coordinate deliveries, bookings and external appointments
- Follow up important deadlines, commitments and recurring tasks
- Maintain operational checklists, procedures and planning systems
- Assist with project coordination and special family initiatives

- Organising digital information and documentation systems
- Developing and maintaining operational procedures and workflows
- Supporting the implementation of AI-based assistants and automation tools for household operations

- Experience from a similar role within a private household, family office, executive support, hospitality, operations, administration, household management or nanny position
- Experience supporting families with school-aged children
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good digital competence and confidence using modern systems and technology
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Strong problem-solving and coordination skills
- Able to swim
- Non-smoker
