Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) Lead – AI workloads

What you'll need to succeed

• Senior Cloud leadership experience, with CCoE function ownership/shaping.

• Proficiency in AI/ML workloads on major Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP valued).

• Ability to balance governance with enablement.

• Experience with FinOps for data/compute-intensive workloads.

• Credibility with senior engineering leadership and executive stakeholders.

• Comfort operating in a matrixed environment.

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with GPU capacity planning, confidential computing, or AI-specific Cloud security.

• Prior experience in energy, industrial, or regulated sectors.

• Background in policy-as-code or automated governance.

The role

Own Aker BP's Cloud Centre of Excellence and shape the cloud foundation that our agentic AI ambitions run on.

This role sits at the strategy and platform-ownership layer of the AI operating model, setting cloud direction for the entire agentic stack and partnering with architecture, MLOps, and safety/security to keep cloud decisions in service of the business.

Why this role exists

Aker BP is building the foundation for agentic AI at scale. We are doing this as one operating model; strategy, architecture, science, data, safety, and delivery designed to work together, not as separate teams. This role is part of that build.

We are moving AI into the core of industrial operations, work that spans physical assets, regulated environments, and decisions that affect production, safety, and the broader energy system. We work cross-disciplinarily, with a focus on shipping into production rather than running experiments indefinitely.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and mature the existing CCoE function to drive Cloud adoption and transformation supporting AI at scale.

• Set and govern Cloud standards for agentic AI, GPU workloads and AI-specific security patterns.

• Drive FinOps discipline across Cloud operations.

• Partner closely with Architecture, MLOps, and Security functions to ensure Cloud decisions serve Core Business needs.

• Represent Cloud governance in enterprise architecture decisions and vendor relationships.

• Evolve the CCoE operating model for continuous improvement.

• Establish and govern DevOps and CI/CD standards for AI workloads, including infrastructure-as-code requirements, automated model-testing pipelines, and deployment governance.
