Operations Coordinator – NOV Downhole (Forus, Stavanger)
About the Role
As an Operations Coordinator, you will support workshop and operational activities by ensuring accurate documentation, efficient material flow, and strong system data quality.
Based at our Forus facility, this is a workshop-facing role where you will work closely with technicians, engineers, and supply chain teams to maintain reliable operations and minimize downtime in a fast-paced environment. Your work will directly support efficient workshop performance and high-quality service delivery to offshore customers.

NOV Downhole operates one of Europe’s key service hubs in Forus, Stavanger, supporting the rental, repair, and maintenance of drilling tools for offshore operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Key Responsibilities
You will coordinate and track rework activities while ensuring documentation is accurate, structured, and compliant. This includes preparing and maintaining documentation, reviewing service packages, contributing to tool sheet creation, and supporting engineering with drawings and component valuations.
You will act as a key point of contact for vendors and third-party services, coordinating rentals, logistics, and documentation while following up with suppliers and inspectors to ensure timelines and requirements are met.
You will support procurement and system-related activities by assisting with purchase orders, handling goods receipt and closure in JDE, and maintaining accurate work order and system data. Close collaboration with inventory teams will help ensure material availability across operations.
The role also includes day-to-day logistics activities such as picking, packing, and shipment coordination, along with participation in cycle counts and audits, handling scrapping in line with company policies, and coordinating incoming shipments and order follow-ups.
You will contribute to operational improvements by supporting data quality initiatives, participating in Lean and 5S activities, maintaining hazardous waste documentation, and ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards.
Qualifications & Skills
We are open to candidates with different educational and professional backgrounds. A technical diploma or college degree within a mechanical discipline is beneficial, and a mechanical or operational background is an advantage. Experience with downhole or completion tools is helpful but not required.
You may be early in your career or bring several years of experience. Familiarity with ERP systems such as JDE is a plus.
To succeed in this role, you should be structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with documentation and systems. A practical, problem-solving mindset and the ability to stay organized in a busy environment are important.
You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, communicate effectively across functions, and take a proactive approach to learning and improvement.
