About the Team
We are a specialized, globally distributed IT team of six members: four based in Europe, one in Australia, and one in the Americas. Together, we deliver, operate, and continuously improve TOMRA’s service delivery platform infrastructure. Our mission is to provide stable, secure, and scalable platforms that enable smooth and reliable IT operations.
About the Role
As an IT Systems Engineer – Platform & Cloud Infrastructure, you will play a key role in ensuring TOMRA’s IT systems are reliable, secure, and high-performing — both on-premises and in the cloud. You will be part of our global IT Service Delivery team, collaborating closely with IT Service Design and contributing to the successful transition of projects into operations.
The role is based at TOMRA’s global headquarters in Asker, Norway. Occasional travel to other TOMRA locations should be expected.
What you will do:
Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions (primarily Azure) and hybrid environments.
Contribute to the implementation of server, storage, and backup solutions, ensuring scalability and security.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
Support the transition of new systems into operations, including testing, documentation, and change processes.
Provide 3rd-level support for complex infrastructure topics, including maintenance and upgrades.
Assist with incident management, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Collaborate on cloud security best practices, compliance, and cost optimization.
What do you bring:
We do belive that you have proven experience working as a System Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or in a similar role, with strong expertise in server, storage, and backup environments. You possess good knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper‑V, and you have hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, along with hybrid IT architectures.
We also belive you have:
knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates) and CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
Strong understanding of network protocols, system performance monitoring, and cloud security principles.
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
You are also comfortable working in modern cloud environments and familiar with tools that support scalable and reliable solutions. You enjoy collaborating across a global team, working with colleagues from different locations and disciplines, and you understand how to balance performance, security, compliance and cost in day‑to‑day operations.
What does TOMRA offer you?
Professional challenges within a growing, market leading global sustainability technology company
Good opportunities for professional development and competence building through participation in relevant training courses and seminars
5 extra days holiday at Easter or Christmas time or between other public holidays in Norway
