We are seeking an Application Service Engineer for our global field operations
Join us in continuing to revolutionize ocean space operations!
Do you enjoy working hands-on with advanced technical systems in real operational environments? Are you structured, solution-oriented, and comfortable supporting customers in the field?
Maritime Robotics is a leader in enabling autonomy across ocean space. We develop advanced navigation systems and a versatile range of Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs), serving global markets such as hydrography, aquaculture, defense, and energy. To strengthen our Service & Aftermarket team, we are looking for a structured and practical Application Service Engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment combining international fieldwork with technical support from our Trondheim office. You will be a key contributor in ensuring the service, operation, and support of our autonomous systems worldwide. You will work closely with customers and internal project teams during delivery and operational phases.
In this role, you will report to our Service Manager.
Your key responsibilities:
Perform installation, commissioning, and testing of autonomous systems and vessels at customer sites globally.
Provide high-level technical support, ensuring our customers succeed in their operational phases.
Conduct troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to maintain the high reliability of our fleet.
Support customers during operational start-up and field deployments, including delivering training and product demos.
Document work performed and contribute to structured service reporting and the improvement of support processes.
Collaborate closely with internal engineering and project teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
Ensure company compliance by continuously seeking improvements and reporting deviations.
Relevant expertise in this role:
Technical education (BSc or Master) within electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, hydrography, or similar. Relevant hands-on experience may compensate for formal education.
Experience from field service, technical support, or maritime operations is highly valued.
Understanding of ship systems, hydrographic sensors, or sensor integration.
Familiarity with Linux-based systems and networking principles is an advantage.
Experience working in structured technical projects with documentation, testing, and verification.
As an international company, we require fluency in both Norwegian and English; other languages are a big bonus.
Who are you, then?
Structured and systematic in your way of working, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
Comfortable following technical procedures and project plans to ensure safe and efficient operations.
A strong problem-solver with a practical mindset, able to think on your feet in field environments.
Able to work independently and take initiative when representing us on-site.
A clear communicator towards both customers and internal colleagues.
Motivated by delivering quality and reliability in everything you do.
What we offer:
A stimulating and dynamic work environment at the forefront of innovative maritime technology.
A meaningful job with an important social mission. The autonomy we create ensures sustainable, efficient, and safe ocean space operations worldwide
A collaborative and growing team of passionate and highly competent professionals.
Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
A comprehensive and well-organized benefits package.
A strong sense of community, plenty of humour, and social activities that bind us together in a busy everyday life.
Trondheim's coolest office spaces right by the waterfront at Brattørkaia (and we mean it!)
The role involves international travel, with your primary base at our headquarters in Trondheim.
Ready to join us? We're already excited to meet you!

Om arbeidsgiveren
Since 2005, Maritime Robotics has pioneered and led the development of advanced sea drones (Uncrewed Surface Vessels USVs) and maritime autonomy. Our core technology, the autonomous navigation system (ANS), enables safe and efficient remote and autonomous operations at sea.
These robotic solutions are vital for precise seabed mapping, ocean research, securing marine infrastructure, and operations in challenging environments. Globally deployed ANS and USVs contribute to sustainable, efficient, and safe maritime navigation, minimizing fuel use. In today’s world, our technology is also crucial for protecting communities and assets. We see growing demand from defence, security, hydrography, marine construction, and the energy sector.
