About the position
In this senior automation role, you will contribute to the design and development of automation and SAS solutions across early‑phase studies, FEED and execution projects. You will work with automation philosophies, system topologies, programming basis and I/O design, while ensuring strong technical deliveries and seamless integration across disciplines. The role includes active collaboration with suppliers and multidisciplinary teams, leading workshops and technical reviews, and supporting efficient project execution. Depending on project needs, you may also guide or coordinate automation resources to strengthen project performance and knowledge sharing. You will work in all project phases and in both Offshore wind and O&G projects.
Responsibilities
You will follow up suppliers on quality, deliverables and schedule, and manage interfaces with construction, commissioning, operations and other disciplines. Through a proactive and solution‑oriented approach, you will contribute to continuous improvement, digitalisation and development of robust automation methods. Knowledge sharing and collaboration are central aspects of the role, helping build capability within the automation team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
10–15 years’ experience from automation engineering in greenfield projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Minimum 8 years’ experience with SAS system design, including development of philosophies, topologies and SAS/ICS package follow‑up.
Experience with SCDs for documenting logic (where applicable).
Strong knowledge of relevant standards, such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, DNV and IEC.
Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Ability to work both independently and in multicultural teams, with a structured and quality‑focused approach.
Proactive and innovative mindset, with a drive to share knowledge and improve methods through digital tools.
