We are looking for a skilled and experienced System Administrator!

Netlife develops and operates a white label workflow and ecommerce platform used by volume photographers in more than 30 countries around the world. Our customers photograph more than 7 million students and athletes every year, and our ecommerce platform handles a yearly transaction value of more than 1000 MNOK.

To keep up with our growth and enable us to be even more ambitious in the future, we are now looking for more talented and friendly people to join our small but growing engineering team.

What you will be doing

You are a self-driven and highly motivated problem solver, with a willingness to take on both hands-on work in the data center and actively contribute to discussions around future architecture and planning. You will also be expected to contribute to documentation efforts and to the development and scripting of operational tools.

As a System Administrator you will be part of a dynamic and competent engineering team located in Trondheim. Your responsibilities will include operating, monitoring and improving our own infrastructure (currently hosted at ATEA Trondheim) in combination with virtual AWS installations serving customers on other continents.

We believe you will bring

• Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience.
• Hands-on experience with maintaining PostgreSQL and Apache servers.
• Intermediate to advanced Python programming skills for automation and operational tooling.
• Strong understanding of computer and information security principles and best practices.
• Experience working with distributed systems and large scale infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu) and/or FreeBSD server environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), is a plus.
• Solid understanding of computer networking concepts, including routing, firewalls and protocols.
• Experience managing file storage systems at scale.
• Experience or interest in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools, particularly Ansible, for managing and provisioning infrastructure efficiently.
• Quick learner and passionate about technology, both using the right tools for the job, but also being interested in new technologies.
