Jenipapo Andalusite is a rare gemstone found in the municipality of Itinga in the northwest of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is known for its unique mosaic of colours, including kiwis, cherries, chocolates, golds, oranges, and lemons. Due to its remarkable pleochroism effect, the stone is highly valued by collectors. This Gem is a great choice for everyday jewellery due to its durability (7 – 7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale). Wearing Andalusite is believed to help reduce fevers, the pain of arthritis, joint inflammation, gout and rheumatism. Andalusite is associated with the Astrological sign of Virgo and vibrates to the number 7. It works well for the Solar Plexus Chakra and is said to be helpful in balancing both the Root and Heart Chakras. It is also a protection gemstone and used to ward off the evil eye.
