A post-doctoral position is available in the research group "Functional genetics of Obesity" in the field of epigenetics, (100%) over three years at the Department of Clinical Molecular Biology, Akershus University Hospital (Ahus), University of Oslo (UIO), Norway.
Successful applicants will participate in the project: "Adipose tissue depot-specific mRNA modifications and relationship to obesity" which focuses especially on m6A methylation in adipocytes originating from several human adipose tissue depots and its role in obesity and adipose tissue distribution.
The candidate should be a highly committed young researcher having experience in epigenetics of obesity in general, especially in working on adipose tissue/adipocytes (including cell culture techniques), analysis of glucose and insulin metabolism in adipocytes and next-gen-sequencing. Further, experience in handling and manipulating large data set along with a thorough bioinformatics/statistics background is highly desired.
The post doc will be a member of the obesity research group "Functional Genetics of Obesity" at Ahus, headed by Prof. Yvonne Böttcher.

Experience:
Experience and proved competence within adipose tissue biology (human/mouse), epigenetics and/or mRNA modifications. Experience within molecular biology, cell biology, and a thorough bioinformatics/statistics background is preferable.
The post.doc is expected to actively contribute to the publications generated in our research group.
