The Bang & Olufsen Beogram 3000 is a tangential tracking turntable produced from 1985 to 1987 (Type 5901/5903/5905). It features Bang & Olufsen’s patented Optimum Pivot Point suspension system to isolate internal vibrations, ensuring high-quality sound reproduction.
Key specifications and features include:
Cartridge: Equipped with an MMC4 moving coil cartridge.
Functionality: Automatic speed detection for 33 and 45 RPM records, with a built-in repeat function (up to 7 times) and Datalink compatibility for connecting to other B&O systems like the Beomaster 3000 or Beocenter 9000.
Design: Distinctive black plastic and aluminum finish with secondary control keys that project through the lid, allowing operation without lifting the lid to prevent dust exposure.
Technical Specs: Dimensions of 42 x 7.5 x 32.5 cm, weighing 5.3 kg, with wow and flutter under 0.06% and rumble greater than 80 dB.
The model was succeeded by the Beogram 3300 and Beogram 9000 in 1987. Recently, Bang & Olufsen has reintroduced the design as part of their Recreated Classics program, pairing original 1980s Beogram 3000 decks with Beolab 8 speakers in the limited-edition Beosystem 3000c.
-------------------------
The Tandberg TR-1000 is a Norwegian-made FM stereo receiver manufactured between 1972 and 1976, widely regarded by audiophiles as one of the finest vintage receivers due to its robust build and distinctive "warm" analog sound. It features a 2x 50W RMS power output (into 4Ω), a sophisticated FM tuner using dual-gate MOSFETs, and a capacitor-coupled output stage that many enthusiasts prefer for its musicality over later direct-coupled models.
Key technical specifications and features include:
Power Output: 2x 50W RMS at 4Ω (2x 35W at 8Ω) with a damping factor of 60.
Inputs/Outputs: Includes two Phono MM inputs (one adjustable), three Tape inputs, and outputs for two pairs of loudspeakers.
Tone Control: Features independent bass and treble controls for each channel, along with loudness compensation and low/high-cut filters.
Design: Housed in a rosewood cabinet with a silver faceplate, weighing 8.8 kg, and originally priced at approximately 1,675 DM.
Audio Character: Described as muscular, soulful, and juicy, with excellent stereo imaging and bass control when paired with appropriate speakers.
The TR-1000 is often compared to its sibling, the TR-1010, which includes AM tuning, and is considered the pinnacle of Tandberg's single-ended, capacitor-coupled design era before the shift to balanced, DC-coupled architectures in the TR-20xx series.
