This Seiko 6139‑6012 “Bruce Lee” from 1971 represents one of the very first automatic chronographs ever made, powered by Seiko’s legendary 6139 movement. The model is nicknamed “Bruce Lee” due to its association with the iconic actor and martial artist, adding genuine cultural coolness to real horological importance.
This example stands out because it is fully original, professionally fully serviced in 2026, runs exceptionally well, and comes on its rare original bracelet. Early production, honest vintage character, documented service, and strong technical performance make this a watch that can be worn, enjoyed, and confidently collected.
A true vintage chronograph with history, attitude, and credibility – increasingly hard to find in this condition.
Service Data & Technical Performance
Professional full service carried out on 02.03.2026 by independent watchmaker in Norway.
The watch and movement were completely disassembled, cleaned and serviced according to Seiko factory specifications for the Seiko 6139A calibre.
Work performed:
Complete disassembly of watch and movement
Inspection of all movement components
Ultrasonic cleaning of movement and case
Replacement of gaskets for crown, pushers and caseback (original crystal gasket retained due to correct fit and good condition – original Seiko gaskets often outperform modern reproductions)
Replacement of worn original components:
Escape wheel
Pallet fork
Complete balance assembly
Automatic rotor ball bearing
Day wheel
Re‑staking of automatic rotor rivets
Reassembly and lubrication according to Seiko 6139A service manual (Moebius oils and greases equivalent to original Seiko specifications)
Regulation and full functional testing
Replacement of crystal
Pressure tested to 6 bar – test passed

The movement now runs stable with low positional variance, and all functions operate correctly, including chronograph, day/date and quickset.
