Beskrivelse av varen
Tilstand: Helt ny - Uåpnet/med lapp
Self made: Abstract painting on a 39cm x 19.5cm x 1cm canvas using gallery quality acrylic paints in gentle forest greens and olive greens to create the illusion of leaves, bushes, mosses and grass. With a gentle use of off-white, pale yellow and grays to create the trees standing within the greenery.
This painting is made with Amsterdam acrylics paints, mixed with Amsterdam pouring medium as well as some other mixed media to create textures and chemical reactions with the paints.
This smaller painting was made as a “test piece”, for me to visually plan out and test the concept and technique for a much larger commission piece for a client called «Tre Grønne Tre». “To Grønne Tre” is sized a bit smaller, and was the birthplace of it predecessor “Tre Grønne Tre” a 100cm x 80cm canvas. Photos included for explanation and example. This style is something I have perfected and can be replicated should you have a need for a larger painting with this Forest Motif. 👍🏽
Despite being a “test piece” it is made to perfection!! The concept is one of my favorites and has remained in my private collection for some time now. As an artist, we must say goodbye to all of our artwork for others to enjoy. It’s time this piece found a new home.
My walls are full from my many years of painting, and keeping my favorites from being sold. But, every artist needs a blank canvas to have an inspiration to make new.
Having fresh, empty walls in my home inspires my creativity to make new art to fill them. If they are suitable to be preserved on my walls, then I know they are my best work that my clients will also enjoy. It must all go— so I can create more masterpieces!!

This piece comes from my Norwegian Forest, Fjord og Fjell Series of Paintings created from 2018 - current.
“To Grønne Tre” is the perfect piece for bringing nature into a small space, such as a bathroom, hallway or entrance. Given the opportunity to see it every day, as walking by, it brings new elements to enjoy with its unique textures and color combinations.

Abstract + Norwegian landscapes = alternative perspectives. Some see an aerial view from above. Watching the land cascading into the water. Or seeing the texture maps of elevations from a Birds Eye view. Others see the landscape view, where the sky meets the mountains in the horizon. Some see something completely new. It’s fantastic to hear the interpretation of others individual perspectives of each piece.
In this particular piece, I see into a deep forest climbing up a mountain side. I see the forest floor to ceiling covered in greenery. Then, the most beautifully textured trees swiping up into the leaves that adorn them.
What do you see? 👀 Message me, I would love to hear four feedback. Texting in Norwegian is suitable for me to translate. I apologize my Norwegian is not strong enough to describe such art details yet.

Size: 39cm x 19.5cm x 1cm
Frame: Un-framed, but frame-ready. Edges are fully finished and varnished for those who choose to enjoy as-is. Watching how the paints cascade over the edge is quite satisfying.

Where to find more?
One step at a time…I have yet to re-establish my website, Etsy shop, and direct drop printing / shipping services as of yet. I had to take a pit stop due to my health issues. My longterm goal is to establish a gallery location, attend a few expos and selling markets.
My Instagram account is @DustieSands. Follow my page for sneak peeks of new pieces. Full detail videos showcasing the process and beauty of my artwork in motion. Many of them have metallic paints, gold leafing, glitter and / or varnish that creates a wonderful experience when viewing the piece from a distance and up close!

Shipping & Collecting:
Available to collect in Randaberg at Dustie Sands Studio, or arrange custom shipping options that can be arranged with the buyer during purchase depending on the canvas type. For example: some are made on wood, MDF board or a permanent canvas. Others are made on a stretched canvas and have the option to be detached from the canvas frame, rolled into a shipping tube and retreated by your local framing supplier or gallery.
Due to this painting being small in size at 39cm x 19.5cm on a permanent canvas, it will be shipped as is and should be no problem to use standard fixed ferdig solutions.

On the Artist:
When cleaning out my 99.5 year old mother-in-laws home after her passing…it helped me realize just how important it is to “know your artist” in order to be able to best determine the value of such artwork for resale purposes. Seeing sketchy signatures in the corner without any other information made it difficult to determine its link.
Dustie Sands:
Dustie is a well educated, professional artist and designer who has spent her early career working in and with Fortune 500 companies across the globein the product and packaging industry— designing new innovative product and packaging solutions for the consumer goods packaging industry. A corporate designer who followed her clients wishes and brought their ideas to life one concept at a time!
She kept her favorite passion for painting for herself as a personal hobby from childhood to adulthood. Mastering the fine arts in painting with 30 years experience and educatiion.
Educated with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, PA’, USA. Along with a Certification of Mastery in Commercial Art from Euclid High School, Ohio, USA.
Having moved like a Nomad, from Houston, Texas / New Orleans, Louisiana / Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania / Ripley, West Virginia and Cleveland, Ohio— she never lived anywhere long enough to set roots. Having seen the States from every angle, she was excited to explore new worlds. “Home is where your mom is”, but now she’s the mom, and she is home…in Randaberg, Norway.
Her Nomadic days ended when she immigrated to Randaberg, Norway in 2014. Where she has lived ever since. She found her “happily ever after.” The longest Home-Sweet-Home thus far. Her fascination with the wild natural beauty of Norwegian landscapes inspired her recent paintings. It was an easy decision to make the move.

“Control the Chaos, with life and art.”
Making Art is My Happy Place: The joy I gain from mixing, touching, using, smelling and creating with the paints in my art studio— creates so much peace and joy inside. My blood pressure calms, my mind is quiet and still, my heart is full.
After becoming physically disabled in 2017, my body required a different method of painting. In previous years, I spent my time painting with a tiny brush, focusing on tiny details that I could control to perfection and capture pure realism. When my body was unable to sit, stand, hold still for long periods, trembling hands— I felt suffocated by loosing my sense of self, as an artist. Then, I tried fluid art! And this helped me find a balance between the chaos in my health. and learn to let go of the need for control and— I was set free to explore new horizons with new-to-me-painting techniques that I control in a way that creates abstract landscapes of Norway.
Learning how to “control the chaos” of fluid art— is harder than it seems!! It’s a well planned color palette, technique, preparation of mixing paints to perfection using a scientific method, but when it comes time to apply the paint to the canvas tilting, spinning, swiping, pouring, flipping, dragging— mysteries take place and the results are either garbage or perfection beyond one’s wildest dreams! Garbage gets swiped off the canvas to try again. Perfection takes center stage on the walls of my and your homes, offices, hospitals, hotels, cabins, doctors and dentists offices and more!

Why Forest, Fjord og Fjell Series?
These paintings help me to feel free to connect with the GREAT-Norwegian-outdoors.
Norway’s landscapes are an artwork in itself.. It feels like I walk into a painting every time I gå på tur! When my walls are filled with my memories of my walks through the forest, fjords of fjell of Norway— I feel free!!!!
I hope my artwork from the Forest,
Fjord og Fjell Series also sets you free!
