Estelon X Diamond MK2 har fått betydelig internasjonal oppmerksomhet for sin kompromissløse lydkvalitet, banebrytende design og ekstreme byggekvalitet.
Estelon er kjent for å kombinere avansert akustisk ingeniørkunst med skulpturell formgivning. Formen til høyttaleren har sin bakgrunn i akustiske prinsipper- Form follows function- og egentlig ikke design- men så har de blitt veldig flotte da:)

Estelon X Diamond Mk II er en fantastisk høyttaler på alle måter. De er utrolig oppløste i diskanten og spiller silkemykt, samtidig som de spiller med stor autoritet i bassen sammen med en åpen og naturlig mellomtone med et stort lydbilde hvor du virkelig kan plassere instrumentene. Dette sammen med noen utrolig flotte kabinett som ser flottere ut i virkeligheten enn på bildene:)

Estelon X Diamond Mk II Loudspeaker
As JV says in this issue, this three-way, hour-glass-shaped floorstander with a literally rock-solid enclosure from Alfred Vassilkov of Estonia is not just a great direct-radiating loudspeaker; it is one of the greatest direct-radiating loudspeakers. Building on the virtues of the original X Diamond (which already had the best disappearing act and low end JV had heard from a direct-radiating ported loudspeaker), the X Diamond II adds astonishingly realistic timbral warmth and body to what was already a superbly phase-and-time coherent package. With its new tweeter, crossover, and wiring, the new X Diamond has no audible weaknesses—no matter what kind of listener you are or what kind of music you prefer. Always blessed with class-leading resolution, the X Diamond Mk II now boasts superior dynamic range and lifelike density of timbre, while that unique granite-and-acrylic enclosure (without parallel walls inside or out) still gives you the same incredible disappearing act that so wowed JV a decade ago. The new Estelon competes with every other reasonably sized floorstander JV has heard, and he’s heard just about all of them. Ideal for moderate-to-largish rooms, its only real rivals may be the much bigger, top-line Estelons, Magicos, Wilsons, Kharmas, etc., which could better suit truly gigantic listening spaces. One of the best cones-in-a-box speaker of its relatively modest proportions JV has ever heard or reviewed, he can’t praise or recommend it highly enough. Thus, its well-deserved 2021 TAS Overall Product of the Year Award.

Design Philosophy
At Estelon, every loudspeaker is shaped by the space it lives in. Our design philosophy considers not just the loudspeaker, but the entire room, including floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture. These elements all interact with sound and influence how music is experienced.
Our goal is to create a natural, emotionally engaging listening environment where music feels alive and unfiltered.
For low frequencies, sound behaves like a pressure wave, filling the space rather than traveling in a specific direction. That is why we place the woofer near the floor, helping it couple with the surface and distribute bass more evenly.
For higher frequencies, the mid-woofer and tweeter are positioned higher on the cabinet in close vertical alignment, reducing reflections and delivering a stable, focused soundstage.
Cabinet Technology
The X Diamond Mk II uses a cabinet design unlike traditional speaker enclosures, with no flat or parallel surfaces. Built from Estelon’s proprietary marble-based composite, the cabinet is rigid, dense, and acoustically inert.
Each driver sits within a specially shaped internal chamber that supports its performance, while the cabinet’s weight contributes to stability and resonance control.
Internal dampening uses a precise mix of natural and synthetic materials, placed based on measurements and listening tests for tonal balance and detail.
Driver System
The X Diamond Mk II features three drivers, all custom-designed with Accuton: one woofer, one mid-woofer, and one tweeter.
280 mm ceramic sandwich woofer for deep, controlled bass.
173 mm ceramic mid-woofer for fast transients and clean midrange.
25 mm diamond tweeter for exceptional detail, realism, and spatial cues.
Each driver is housed in its own chamber: the woofer in a bass reflex chamber, the tweeter in an isolated chamber shaped for wide dispersion.
Driver Positioning and Cabinet Geometry
The drivers are placed on a curved front baffle to ensure they are equidistant from the listener. This geometry, combined with precision-tuned crossovers, ensures simultaneous sound arrival, accurate imaging, and perfect tonal balance.
Crossover Design
The X Diamond Mk II uses a second-order crossover network, with crossover points at 77 Hz and 2 kHz.
Components include Mundorf and Jantzen capacitors, Goertz and Mundorf inductors, and all are hand-soldered in a star-wired configuration using Estelon’s flat foil direct coupling.
Internal cabling is by Kubala-Sosna, ensuring uncompromised signal clarity.
