Whatever your preferred running routine looks like, there's no shoe that handles it quite like the 880. The Fresh Foam X 880v14 GORE-TEX is an evolution in everyday reliability, featuring a GORE-TEX waterproof construction and Hydrohesion outsole for better grip in wet conditions.
GORE-TEX Upper
The upper of the New Balance 880v14 GORE-TEX Running Shoes has been constructed to allow you to enjoy your run no matter the weather. Built with a GORE-TEX membrane that works hard to keep you dry from the inside out, the upper blocks external moisture from entering without sacrificing breathability, ensuring you stay cool and in control.
It allows internal vapour to escape so feet stay dry from the inside too, preventing an intolerable build-up of sweat.
The materials have a seamless construction to minimise the risks of rubbing or blisters, keeping you focused on your performance. Finally, the shoes have a traditional lace-up system to allow you to get the best possible fit, whilst ensuring feet are locked-in and secure.
Fresh Foam X Midsole
The 14th edition of the 880s utilises New Balance's Fresh Foam X cushioning.
This new version of Fresh Foam X is a one-piece midsole compound that's even softer, even more responsive and much more comfortable. Fresh Foam X provides you with an excellent level of energetic rebound, giving plush underfoot comfort, and protecting you from injuries during high-impact elements of your race. The full-length Fresh Foam keeps the cushioning consistent and improves the transition in the gait cycle.
This midsole uses approximately 3% bio-based content to offer a smaller carbon footprint whilst still providing incredible comfort.
Hydrohesion Outsole
The outsole of the 880v14 GORE-TEX is made with Hydrohesion rubber for incredible grip in wet conditions. Forming a strong bond with the ground beneath, it allows you to move with precision and confidence, delivering traction and grip even in adverse conditions - meaning you're in control of your workout, not the weather.
Adorning the outsoles are vertical flex grooves to further allow for further grip and traction, whilst allowing smoother transitions, allowing you to pick up the pace.
