Om arbeidsgiveren

Kistos was established in October 2020 as an energy company focused on building a balanced, long-term portfolio with high-quality production and development assets, energy storage infrastructure and energy generation projects, along with industry-leading carbon footprint credentials.

Kistos listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in November 2020 before shortly announcing the acquisition of Tulip Oil Netherlands.

In July 2022, Kistos completed the acquisition from TotalEnergies of interests in the Greater Laggan Area in the UK North Sea, a group of production and development assets, including the Shetland Gas Plan.

Kistos acquired Mime Petroleum AS in May 2023, and renamed the company to Kistos Energy (Norway) AS (KENAS). KENAS is focused on hydrocarbon development and production on the Norwegian continental shelf. The Company is consisting of highly experienced oil and gas industry staff and the company is led by CEO Sverre Skogen and has its headquarters in Oslo, Norway.

KENAS holds a 10% interest in the Balder joint venture (comprising the Balder and Ringhorne fields) and a 7.4% stake in the Ringhorne East unit, all operated by Var Energi ASA.

Based on operator estimates, 2P reserves at Balder and Ringhorne were app 22 MMboe net to KENAS. In addition, KENAS has net 2C resources of app 20 MMboe, largely comprised of additional upside in Balder and Ringhorne plus the 2021 King oil discovery.

The Balder X project comprises the Balder Future and Ringhorne Phase IV drilling projects and is designed to extend the life of the Balder Hub till about 2050. It includes upgrading the Jotun FPSO, which is forecast by the operator to sail away in the second half of 2024.

KENAS's share of production from Balder and Ringhorne will increase significantly once the Balder X project is onstream, with production for the enlarged Group expected to be over 15,000 boe/d in 2025 once the Jotun FPSO is onstream.
