Drive Project Success Through Strategic Planning and Execution

Are you an experienced project planner with a strong understanding of project execution and scheduling? Jefferson Wells is recruiting on behalf of our client for a long-term assignment in either Oslo or Halden. You will be employed by Jefferson Wells and work on exciting and complex projects within the energy sector. We are looking for someone with solid experience in planning, preferably with knowledge of Primavera and project execution in a matrix organization.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As a Project Planner, you will be part of the Project Planning team and allocated to one or more projects or tenders. Your responsibilities will include:

Tender Process Involvement:

  • Provide planning input for allocated tenders, considering risk and financial aspects.
  • Review and clarify tender specifications to ensure effective planning and control.

Project Execution Oversight:

  • Establish baseline schedules aligned with contract obligations, client expectations, and internal procedures.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to update project status and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Analyze project scope, critical paths, and interdependencies.
  • Perform variation analyses, resource assessments, and risk/opportunity alignment.
  • Facilitate on-time delivery (OTD) and ensure adherence to project milestones.
  • Provide internal and external progress reports.
  • Revise schedules in response to scope changes and update monthly reports.
  • Forecast and align resource needs with project teams and line managers.

Additional Project Support:

  • Conduct simulations and analyses to support project decisions.
  • Contribute to planning competence development and training initiatives.
  • Support system improvements and resource planning within the project support section.
  • Assist with other tasks as directed by management.

Background and Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following background:

  • University degree or equivalent
  • 5–10 years of experience as a project planner in relevant sectors
  • Strong knowledge of project planning principles and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project)
  • General understanding of project management, technical, and financial aspects
  • Proficiency in English and Norwegian, both written and spoken
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and across multiple locations
