Engineer Hydrodynamics LMG Marin AS

Position overview

LMG Marin are at the forefront of vessel design and development work related to green energy solutions as well as more traditional maritime projects. This position will provide a unique opportunity to be “hands-on” and apply theoretical knowledge of hydrodynamics to design and performance verification of innovative ship designs and solutions from conceptual design to building.

Focus areas will typically include the following:

  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis using Cadence Fidelity (Fine/Marine)

  • Hull form development and optimization, definition of propulsion solutions

  • Speed and powering predictions

  • Hydrodynamic analyses using DNV WADAM/SIMO/SIMA, SINTEF ShipX/Veres

  • Dynamic positioning (DP) checks typically using SINTEF Station Keeping

  • Further developing and optimizing calculation routines and analysis setups

  • Planning of, participation in and follow-up of model tests

  • Stability analysis, hydrostatics etc.in NAPA may also be relevant

Who should apply?

We are looking for candidates with a genuine interest in the development of new vessel concepts and the improvement of existing designs. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of multi-discipline project teams, and to actively engage with LMG’s clients and partners. Candidates should have completed (or be about to complete) relevant technical education to Master or Bachelor level. LMG are interested in candidates with relevant experience but would also encourage newly qualified candidates with a relevant technical background to apply.
