Hey there! 🌞

Ready to channel your engineering prowess into building a cleaner planet?

Skyfri is a fast-growing clean tech company based in vibrant Oslo, and we're on a mission to accelerate the global transition to clean energy! âš¡ We provide a cutting-edge platform that empowers asset owners to operate their solar and battery power plants with maximum efficiency, improving uptime, production, and paving the way for smarter energy management (think flexibility and trading!). Our vision? To orchestrate the world's commercial solar and battery installations through leading technology.

We're scaling up with ambitious goals and are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to strengthen our Energy Management System (EMS) team. The EMS is the brain of the operation, featuring an IoT device on solar and battery systems, enabling smart control, monitoring, and seamless integration with 3rd party devices.

🧑 💻 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Crafting and scaling our EMS software – both in the cloud and on edge devices – to streamline operations and onboard new sites seamlessly.
  • Building robust integrations with diverse 3rd party services and devices (on-site and cloud-based).
  • Architecting sustainable, cost-effective cloud and IoT solutions.
  • Collaborating with and mentoring your peers, sharing your expertise to elevate the team.
  • Championing a product-focused mindset and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to our collective engineering excellence.

🔭 We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Is eager for high-growth opportunities, ready to take ownership and learn rapidly.
  • Is a kind, empathetic, and collaborative team player who values teamwork over ego.
  • Brings a product-first approach and a genuine passion for continuous learning.
  • Thrives on variety, embraces new challenges, and enjoys figuring out the unknown.
  • Flourishes in a fast-paced, dynamic startup/scaleup environment where adaptability is key.

✨ Not Required, But Extra Awesome If You Have Experience With:

  • Working in a SaaS and/or clean tech company.
  • Timeseries data (ingestion or analytics).
  • Developing for both IoT devices and the cloud.
  • Networking concepts and troubleshooting.
  • The Modbus protocol.
  • Azure IoT Edge and Hub.
  • Our tech stack (see below) – even a passing familiarity is a plus!

🚀 Technologies We Use:

  • React, TypeScript, and Vite for frontend
  • C# and .NET Core for APIs
  • Azure:
    • Databricks, Data Explorer
    • Postgres
    • Container Apps, Functions, Web App
    • IoT Edge and Hub
    • Event Hubs and Event Grid
    • ...and more!
  • Python for IoT edge devices and data engineering
  • Grafana
  • Radix Mango OS

🦾 What You Bring (Requirements):

  • Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal), as it's our working language.
  • Ability to work from our Oslo office (or be within reasonable commuting distance).
    • We are not offering relocation for this role, and require applicants to already be located in Norway with a valid work permit.
  • Proven experience as a software engineer. We value skills and impact over formal credentials – if you're great at what you do, we want to hear from you!
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a positive team environment.

💸 Perks & Benefits We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work options (work-from-home days).
  • A genuine commitment to work-life balance.
  • Impactful work in an exciting, high-growth domain.
  • Fantastic opportunities for career and personal development.
  • A flat organizational structure with minimal bureaucracy – your voice will be heard!
  • Brand new, shiny offices in Apotekergata 10 from August! ✨
  • Subsidized lunch to keep you fueled.
