Life Technologies' Information Technology team is global and consists of 400+ personnel. 40+ personnel are based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Life Technologies currently has a vacancy for an IT Systems Administrator to support our offices at Oslo/Lillestrøm in Norway. The IT Systems Administrator will be based in Oslo/Lillestrøm, Norway and will report into the IT Manager located in Paisley, Scotland.
This is an opportunity to work in a fast paced global Life Sciences organization and be a part of a local, as well as, a global team known for its commitment to excellence.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support existing and new IT infrastructure and applications within the Oslo/Lillestrøm offices
- Configure and maintain hardware, software and telecommunications
- Maintain network systems (LAN components), security concepts and lab PC systems
- Handle calls and service business users by eliminating IT issues
- Register and monitor via reporting tools
- Analyze user requirements, evaluate options and recommend long-term solutions
- Troubleshoot incidents and perform problem management
- Participate in European initiatives
- Adhere to Global/European IT standards
- Register (purchased) equipment and software
- Work with regional vendors as required
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science of related field or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Any Microsoft, ITIL or Cisco certification will be seen as a plus
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Norwegian
- Experienced in:
- Windows 2003 server
- Active Directory
- Exchange 2007
- Windows XP pro
- MS Office 2003/2007/2010
- TCP/IP Networking
- Knowledge of Cisco networking equipment
- Media Management
- Skills in IP telephony would be an asset
- Excellent customer facing skills
- Ability to work using your own initiative
- Capacity to work alone as well as in a team
- Experience of project management and desire to progress within this field
