Vard Electro is searching for a Procurement Coordinator. This position is responsible for planning and controlling all purchase for Vard Electro Projects, and works daily as the coordinator between the Project Organization and the Procurement department. As Procurement Coordinator you will report functionally to the Project Manager and be part of his team to ensure delivery of the Project within the agreed cost, time and quality. At the same time, you will interact daily with your colleagues in the Procurement department, to support them in respecting the procurement schedules.

Procurement Coordinator is employed in the Procurement Department and reports to Expediting and Control Manager. The Procurement department consists of 14 colleagues, in the positions as Category Manager, Category Purchaser, Pre-contractual Manager, Logistics Coordinator and Purchaser First line support.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible to follow assigned projects from signature of contract to delivery of vessel to owner.
  • Identify all procurements for the project, create and maintain Procurement Plans.
  • Function as link between Procurement and Project Organization, attend project meetings and report Procurement status.
  • Follow up internal procurement deadlines is respected.
  • Update ERP system according to information from Project Org., Product Org. and suppliers.
  • Responsible to follow up suppliers and that agreed delivery schedule is respected.
  • Support on Logistics for assigned projects.

Qualifications

  • Higher education within procurement/logistics, technical or financial.
  • Relevant experience can replace the education requirement.
  • Preferably experience in managing suppliers and/or customers.
  • Preferably experience with ERP systems.
  • Some years of experience within Procurement is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Good negotiation skills and commercial understanding.
  • Good cultural understanding.
  • Experience from shipbuilding is an advantage.
