I started as an apprentice in 2016, then, four years later, became Supervisor of the steel outfitting department. I value the dynamic, social environment at the yard, where personal and professional development go hand in hand. The positive work atmosphere at VARD Søviknes truly enhances this experience, fostering a collaborative and supportive community that contributes to our success.

My background is IT, but I've always had a certain interest in cybersecurity. Until 2023, I hadn't dared to take the leap, until I joined VARD as a security architect, transitioning to a sector that becomes more and more fascinating the deeper you delve into it. For me, it not only meant changing fields but also changing countries, from Spain to Norway and challenging myself in new ways. This entire process has been smooth and fun, being part of the supportive and talented Cyber Resilience team.

Being part of a leading company in shipbuilding is something I'm proud of. VARD is always pushing the limits of innovation and making a mark in the industry. The people at VARD come from all over the world, which adds a lot of diversity to our workplace. We learn about different cultures and ways of working, making it a global experience. We regularly have team-building events and social gatherings. This not only makes work better - It allows us to build strong connections with our colleagues.

Vard is a great place to work as an interior designer. I thrive doing product development both internally and for our customers worldwide, as I get to know the identity for each unique project, be creative and design sustainable solutions. My flexible workdays, which include traveling and various tasks, enable me to follow the process from the first steel cutting to the final pillow onboard. This makes me feel empowered to grow as a designer and continuously challenge the field.
