In August 2022, Aker Solutions entered into an agreement with SLB and Subsea 7 to form a new Joint Venture for subsea. The Joint Venture came into effect on the 2nd of October 2023.

By forming this Joint Venture SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea 7 have come together to create the world’s leading subsea technology and solutions provider. We are focused on accelerating innovation to create a step change in subsea production economics and reduce emissions in subsea operations. 

The joint venture brings together deep reservoir domain expertise, broad front-end and system design knowledge. We provide an extensive field-proven subsea production and processing technology portfolio, world-class manufacturing scale and capacity, and unique pore-to-process integration capabilities. 

OneSubsea is a world leading provider of steel tube umbilicals and cables for the offshore market. The Engineering Manager - Umbilicals runs a team of 13 highly skilled engineers which performs design of umbilical cross-sections, terminations and transport equipment. The position is also responsible for the verification test team at our site in Moss and functions as the interface towards the high value engineering hub in Pune.

What will you be doing?

• Coordinate and follow up design engineering activities across team
• Execute employee management process for direct reports and create development plans for team members
• Execute regular team meetings and support product engineers in their daily work
• Support planning and execution of engineering and verification test activities within Umbilical Projects, Tender and Studies
• Allocate engineering resources to Umbilical Projects, Tender and Studies
• Support line manager in engineering for technical tender work
• Develop and maintain standard design/document templates for Umbilical projects
• Monitor quality of delivered work and maintain track record

We think you should have:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant science or engineering discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in project execution in high technological industries, experience with execution for Oil & Gas offshore highly appreciated
• Good communication skills, including ability to work in cross-cultural environment
• Experience with design of steel tube umbilicals and termination equipment is an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
• Excellent English skills
• Good knowledge of applicable technical standards
• Experience with Solidworks or other 3D modelling tools
